We’re halfway through the summer, and August is *just around the corner.* We’re partial to August over here at Bikes and Hikes LA; this author, in particular, has an August birthday, and maintains that it is THE BEST month, for many reasons- it’s calmer than July, the pressure’s off to have the best fourth of July ever, everyone travels, and end of summer nostalgia creeps in- the idea that fall is just around the corner, festivities are winding down, a back to school season, etc.; there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about August, a sense of imminent denouement that allows everyone to slow down, cherish the moment, and make some beautiful memories as we head off into the sunset. *Larry David moment* “Having said that….”
