A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
A Little Something for Everyone – Group Adventures with Bikes and Hikes LA
Written by: Elizabeth Conway
According to an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Sharing adventures on a vacation, whether traveling with your family, friends, co-workers, softball team members, youth group cohorts, or book club, is an excellent opportunity to learn more about your loved ones, discover new interests together, and create memories to last a lifetime. While traveling solo certainly broadens the mind and senses, group excursions allow one to be a part of something bigger than oneself, and connect with others around you. For your next family reunion, company retreat, or office team building exercise, come share the adventure with Bikes and Hikes LA – we’ve got a little something for everyone.
Say you’re in charge of planning your PTA holiday party, and you’re looking for something a little off the beaten track beyond swilling cocktails and sugar cookies. Sure, with a company titled “Bikes and Hikes LA,” one might draw the idea that we cater solely to the athletic, thrill seeking, adrenaline junkies. Maybe you never learned to ride a bike as a child. Maybe your cronies would prefer an activity where their feet stay on the ground. That’s totally cool. We don’t mind. Did you know that apart from our daily bike tours and sunset hikes, we offer a multitude of custom group options for you and your friends, including a whale watching excursion in Long Beach, a Beverly Hills Walking Tour, and even a tasting experience through the South Bay Cities, to satisfy your holiday cravings? We’re all for combining fresh air and exercise with good food, and even better conversation. We offer a number of corporate group activities for teams big and small. Skip the overdone, awkward smalltalk by the punch bowl, and instead, foster some meaningful connections on an outdoor adventure, away from screens and tacky decor–it’s as easy as riding a bike.
You’ve done it, your amateur skee-ball team has won the league championship (maybe by default, since the challenging team didn’t make it to the final game,) and it’s time to celebrate! But why go to yet another dive bar, with a sticky floor and overpriced craft beers, when instead, you could be doing something a little more active and exciting? How about taking your team on a 5k Fun Run in Downtown LA, with a few enthusiastic, motivating guides from BHLA? Come outside, get in a workout, take in some beautiful Art Deco Architecture, and go for pancakes after-we may have to join you. How about instead of yet another awkward mixer in the gym with your youth group, you rally the troops and join us on our early morning sunrise hike through Runyon Canyon? What better way to connect with each other emotionally and spiritually than 200 feet above the ground, watching the sun rise above the largest urban sprawl in the nation? Connect with yourself, connect with nature, and connect with others–-we promise you’ll enjoy the journey.
We’ve all gotten the dreaded, exclamation-point-ridden email from our cousin’s cousin in Toledo, enthusiastically roping you and all fifty-plus members of your extended family you’ve never met in to a “Fun Reunion Weekend!” with barbecue and karaoke abound. Sure, belting out “Livin’ on a Prayer” is always a great time, but for those of you who’d prefer to keep their singing in the shower, why not look for something new to bring your family together for some annual togetherness? Did you know that Bikes and Hikes LA offers private group yoga classes and LA family bootcamps? We’ll make that barbecue and your aunt’s sweet potato casserole taste oh-so-sweeter after a killer morning workout. For the more artistic folks in your group, what better way is there to bring the family together for a little healthy competition with a sandcastle building contest? We’ll provide the tools and the tips- you bring the magic.
So the next time you’re grasping at straws for ways to spice up your annual group gathering, let the BHLA team help you – we’re already stoked. As Tim Cahill once said, “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” Give us a call, stop by our office, or drop us a line- we’re pumped to help you and your friends, your team, your class, your family, and whomever else you call your tribe curate an unforgettable experience for your next gathering.
