Danny Roman, founder and CEO of Bikes and Hikes LA

Danny Roman

Founder and CEO

Danny Roman is the founder of Bikes and Hikes LA Tours, the top outdoor adventure company in Los Angeles. Born and raised in NYC, Danny moved to LA in 2004, transitioning from a career in Hollywood to blazing trails in sustainable eco-tourism. Since Danny created Bikes and Hikes LA Tours in 2010, thousands of yearly visitors from across the globe have experienced the great city of Los Angeles in a sustainable, health conscious way through their daily outdoor experiences. With 50,000,000 visitors exploring LA per year, Danny and his Bikes and Hikes LA team have managed to stay at the top of eco-friendly tourism in the largest urban sprawl in the USA.

Danny’s vision for Bikes and Hikes LA’s daily biking and hiking tours and wealth of outdoor group and VIP experiences allows guests to experience LA rather than drive past it. In designing his outdoor biking and hiking tours of Los Angeles, Danny has created a fusion of showcasing the best parts of LA- Hollywood history, Tinseltown tales and gossip, and majestic outdoor splendor – with a focus on reducing one’s carbon footprint, traveling sustainably, and experiencing the great outdoors in the most up close and personal way. A fan of the outdoors, fitness, and sharing the City of Stars with visitors from all over the globe, Danny is also passionate about animals, fostering dogs across Los Angeles, and is a dad to two little future hikers of his own.

Jason Bowers, Bikes and Hikes LA Employee

Jason Bowers

General Manager

Jason Bowers joined Bikes and Hikes LA Tours as a guide in 2017 and was elevated to the role of General Manager in 2018. Since he’s lived in Los Angeles since 1995, Jason (like all transplants-turned-locals) knows the city inside and out and takes advantage of the fantastic weather year-round to go biking and hiking whenever he can. Before working for Bikes and Hikes LA Tours, Jason spent a sizeable portion of his adult life as a professional communicator on the radio and TV with a daily nationally syndicated show for Westwood One and previous shows for Sirius XM and KIIS-FM Los Angeles, to name a few. Jason also has a background in improvisation having played to sold-out crowds at festivals in Austin, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and he uses those communication and improv skills to constantly to adapt in the moment to ensure guests and his team of employees are always having a great experience!

Kris, Bikes and Hikes LA employee

Kris Elder

Manager and Director of Activities and Events

Born in San Diego and raised in Cape Cod, Kris is a Southern CALI Boy at heart. He’s been with Bikes and Hikes for the past 6 years and is the guy to talk to if you want to treat your clients, colleagues, or team to unforgettable eco-friendly events in the Southern California area! In addition to leading the group tours department, Kris has been a tour guide for over 5 years. Kris’s favorite thing about LA is that there is ALWAYS something going on. You can be hiking in the mountains one moment, and the next, you’re at a glamorous movie premiere, then you’re noshing on some late-night Ramen in little Tokyo. Each area of LA has a completely unique vibe and character that itches to be explored.

When Kris isn’t creating amazing experiences for our clients and guests, you can find him either at the gym bodybuilding or in his garage making artisanal candles for bespoke weddings, events, and individual sale. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch him performing stand-up at one of the many venues around LA. Kris and his husband love to check out what’s new and intriguing on their own or with friends. Experiences are meant to be shared!

Erik, Bikes and Hikes LA employee

Erik Hines

LA Tour Guide

Erik (with a K) has been I’ve been a guide with Bikes and Hikes LA Tours since 2018. Erik was born and raised in LA and he finds it to be one of the most exciting and engaging cities in the world; his enthusiasm for his job of showing people around his city is abundant. According to Erik, “One of my favorite things about LA is that people from all over the world would come to this city to visit for vacations, some choosing to stay and make this their new home – LA’s diversity and accessibility is one of its greatest assets.” When Erik’s not taking people on some amazing outdoor adventures, he loves to write and produce music (he’s been doing it most of his life, even winning awards for his compositions in theatre!). One of Erik’s favorite LA activities is hanging out at the Original Muscle Beach in Santa Monica and swinging on the Traveling Rings (When he’s not discovering great new food spots, of course.)

Harris Markson

LA Tour Guide

Harris grew up in Denver, CO (which essentially means he was born on a bike). I’ve been leading tours with Bikes & Hikes LA since 2018. My favorite things about Los Angeles are the tacos, how easy it is to do a million different things outdoors, how cool it is to turn a corner and run into the middle of a film shoot, the creative energy that pulses through the city… but mostly the tacos. When he’s not leading tours, you can catch him on a screen– Yeah, he’s one of the millions of actors here in LA. He even worked with Rob Lowe! Harris’ favorite thing to do in LA is go for a hike with his wife and son (pretty soon he’ll be biking too!!!)
